Our take
Many remodel surprises start as a gap in the scope. Three bids with different exclusions are hard to compare, and a gap nobody caught turns into a change order once the contractor is on the job. Project Pilot is built for that. It puts one documented scope in front of every contractor, lines up their proposals against it, then tracks change orders, payments, permits, inspections and the punch list through closeout. If you're hiring contractors, that's the part of the job to have covered.

What one remodel costs in each
HomeZada lists remodel projects on Premium, which runs $15.95 a month, or $99 if you pay for the year. A job that wraps up in six months costs $95.70 on the monthly plan. After six months, the annual plan is cheaper. Either plan renews and charges your card until you cancel.
Project Pilot is free until you decide to run the project in it. The readiness assessment, the preliminary estimate and saved projects cost nothing and need no card. Project Pilot Complete is $199 for one named project, a purchase, not a subscription, and it stays unlocked for that project.
How bids get compared
HomeZada keeps your bids, contracts and project documents in one place, and its AI pulls the details out of estimates and contracts you upload.
Project Pilot starts before the bids exist. The bid package gives every contractor the same documented job. When the proposals come back, Bid Room lines them up against that scope. Exclusions, allowances and unanswered questions show up next to each contractor's total instead of inside it, and you can save the questions to ask each contractor before you sign. It's built to catch things like a low total that leaves out the tile.
Running a remodel you started in HomeZada
Start the project with the free readiness assessment, then upload the bids and contracts you already have as PDFs or photos. Project Pilot reads them and puts their terms into the project for you to review. There's no import from other apps, and you don't have to close your HomeZada account first.
Questions people ask
Is HomeZada free?
HomeZada's Essentials plan is free. It covers home inventory, documents, a contact list and a news feed. Remodel projects are on the paid Premium plan.
Is Project Pilot Pro a contractor marketplace?
No. Project Pilot doesn't sell leads or contractor work, and it doesn't verify, certify or endorse contractors. You bring the contractors; it helps you compare what they propose.
Find the gaps in your scope before the bids come in
The readiness assessment is free. It gives you a preliminary room-by-room estimate and a list of the scope gaps to settle before contractors price the job.
